Community Guidelines
Tleten is built to help people share food and build community. To keep the platform safe, respectful, and trustworthy, all users must follow these guidelines.
If you violate these guidelines, we may remove content, restrict your account, suspend you, or permanently remove you from the platform.
1. Be Honest
Only post Items that accurately match what you are offering.
Be truthful about:
- ingredients
- portion size
- freshness
- prep date
- storage needs
- whether an Item is homemade, homegrown, gathered, or commercially prepared
Do not post misleading descriptions or photos.
2. Disclose Ingredients and Allergens
If you post food, list ingredients as accurately as you can.
You should clearly identify common allergens whenever possible, including:
- milk
- eggs
- fish
- shellfish
- tree nuts
- peanuts
- wheat
- soy
- sesame
If you are unsure, say so.
3. Only Share Safe, Legal Items
Only post Items that are safe and legal to share in your area.
Do not post:
- spoiled food
- expired food
- contaminated or unsafe food
- illegal items
- alcohol (unless specifically allowed)
- tobacco or nicotine products
- cannabis or controlled substances
- hazardous materials
- prohibited animal products or regulated foods where restricted by law
4. Use Good Food Handling Practices
If you prepare food for others:
- wash hands and equipment
- keep hot foods hot and cold foods cold
- avoid cross-contamination
- use clean containers
- label clearly when possible
- be honest about how and when the food was prepared
If you aren't confident the food is safe, don't post it.
5. Respect Other Users
Be kind, respectful, and clear in messages and comments.
Do not:
- harass or threaten others
- discriminate
- spam
- pressure users into off-platform behavior they are uncomfortable with
- send inappropriate or sexual content
- scam or mislead people
6. Meet Safely
When exchanging Items:
- meet in public places when possible
- protect your privacy
- do not share unnecessary personal information
- trust your instincts
- do not proceed if something feels unsafe
tleten does not supervise in-person meetups.
7. No Fraud or Manipulation
Do not:
- create fake accounts
- impersonate someone else
- post fake listings
- manipulate reviews or ratings
- abuse referral systems or promotions
- misrepresent the origin or quality of an Item
8. Respect Local Laws
You are responsible for understanding and following local laws, including any rules related to:
- home-prepared food
- cottage food
- labeling
- licensing
- taxes
- delivery
- food sales or barter
If you are not sure something is allowed, do not list it.
9. Report Problems
If you see unsafe, illegal, misleading, or abusive behavior, use the in-app reporting tools or contact us at support@tleten.com
Please report:
- unsafe food
- harassment
- scams
- impersonation
- threatening behavior
- illegal listings
- repeated dishonesty
10. Enforcement
We may take any of the following actions if we believe a user or listing violates these guidelines:
- remove the listing
- issue a warning
- limit messaging or posting
- temporarily suspend the account
- permanently ban the account
- report conduct to authorities where appropriate
